AFCEA ROCKY MOUNTAIN CHAPTER AWARDS PRIZES AT SCIENCE FAIR

The AFCEA Rocky Mountain Chapter sponsored the 2016 Pikes Peak Regional Science Fair, awarding over $5,000 in prizes to students and teachers in the Pikes Peak Community. A huge thank you to the AFCEA RMC members who donated their time to judge the science projects: Srikant Mantravadi, AFCEA RMC Science Fair Chair, Dean Hullings, Ares Koumis, SMSgt Mick Holt, Craig Hrmida, and Lt Col Greg McCauley. Bob Wright. AFCEA RMC President had the honor of presenting the following awards:

1.       Third Place in the Junior High Division – Anna Mason – “Does the Temperature of an Electromagnet Affect Its Strength?”

2.       Second Place in the Junior High Division  - Murphy Brasuel – “Lightweight Battery Power for Military Applications.  (Here)

3.       First Place in the Junior High Division – Benjamin Wilson – “Radio Repeater Telemetry System” (Here)

4.       Outstanding Teacher – Edison Middle School – Angela Golding

5.       Third Place in the Senior High Division – Shepherd Kruse - “Designing and Testing an Aerospike for Increased Thrust” (Here)

6.       Second Place in the Junior High Division  - Stephen Parish – “Cyberspace Automatted Lightweight Battery Power for Military Applications.  (Here)

7.       First Place in the Senior Division – Robert Meikle – “Graphing Calculator Application” (Here)

8.       Outstanding Teacher – Sand Creek High School – Caitlin Casai
